World Travel Awards will be hosted in Vietnam in October 2019

Founded in 1993, the World Travel Awards (WTA) celebrate excellence in the tourism industry. There are several WTA galas for different regions including Africa and the Indian Ocean, the Caribbean and North America, Middle East, Europe, Latin America, Asia and Oceania, and Europe. A grand finale wraps up the awards.

Although most of the 2019 galas have already taken place, the Asia and Oceania gala and the grand finale will happen on October 12 and November 28. Phu Quoc, Vietnam and Muscat, Oman will host these galas respectively. In addition, starting in 2020, the region of Thompson Okanagan, British Columbia, will host the World Travel Awards due to winning a three-year bid. This is the first time that Canada will hold the Caribbean and North America gala ceremony. Predator Ridge in Vernon will host the event in October 2020. More than 300 international delegates are expected to take part in the ceremony. Venues for the next two years will be announced in 2020 and 2021, but the galas will still take place in the Thompson Okanagan Region.
