Dai Ichi: 20-Year-Old Japanese – Korean Restaurant in Mississauga You Must Try Now

Sushi was originally a traditional Japanese dish, but today, many diners worldwide have favored this dish. You don’t have to go all the way to the Sunrise Country, as sushi is now offered in many different countries, including Canada.

As a family restaurant, Dai Ichi opened its doors in 2001. However, not many people know that the owner has more than 30 years of experience operating restaurants in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA). With skillful hands and rich expertise, Dai Ichi’s cooks serve delicious Japanese and Korean dishes that you must try at least once when coming to Mississauga.

Offering 26 appetizers that include shrimp tempura, yaki gyoza and calamari, there are various choices for you to start the meal.

Besides classic sushi options, there are standard rolls that you should not miss. One of them is the dynamite rolls filled with shrimp tempura, masago and mayo. These rolls are delightful bites thanks to the fresh, big and crunchy shrimp. You can also try the BBQ eel rolls with cucumber. We can tell how skillful the chef is by tasting tendered, flavorful yet not too salty eel meat.

Dai Ichi’s diverse menu also features more than 20 types of premium rolls. Try the Fire Caterpillar if you love salmon and avocado. The roll is made with tempura shrimp inside, masago, avocado, and spicy salmon, ensuring the dish’s pleasant taste.

If you decide to enjoy sushi with your family this weekend, choose party trays designed by the restaurant. Dai Ichi has three types of trays: sushi and rolls tray, sashimi only tray, and sushi, sashimi and rolls combination tray. Each type of tray has different sizes that are very convenient for customers to choose the right portion. A small tray of sushi and mixed sashimi includes 42 pieces and would be enough for two people.
