Coffee seems to be ingrained in Vietnamese people’s everyday lives. In Saigon, there’s something called “Cafe Vợt – Net-Filter Coffee” that has existed for more than 60 years. What makes this so popular in Saigon is the use of a spoon-net filter to brew the coffee, a filtration method that is on the verge of extinction. Somewhere in Saigon, the coffee shops that perform this old-fashioned coffee filtration method are referred to as old places where people come to find peace in their souls.
