Cannes Makeup

Nude Lips

There is nothing more wearable than nude lips and this was overwhelmingly proven at the Cannes’ red carpet. We saw a variety of looks; celebrities wore nude lips in combination with smokey eyes, metallic eye shadow, dark eyeliner, etc. Nude lips complement and, in many cases, complete your makeup look regardless of eye makeup.

TIP: If you are fair skinned, choose a nude lipstick that’s closer to pink. If you have olive skin, opt for a nude that’s beige or caramel, but darker than your shade of skin. You don’t want to match the nude to your skin perfectly that it disappears!

Glam Eyes

While most celebrities played it safe wearing basic makeup looks to the red carpet, we loved the edgier looks from celebrities who played with color! There’s no harm in using vibrant eye shadow or liner to emphasizing your best features and in most cases, it’s your unique eye color. Kristen Stewart and used red eye shadow to accentuate her green eyes, while Rosey Huntington-Whitley used the same color to bring out her blue eyes.

Cannes 2016 Hair

Slicked Back Ponytail

The slicked-back ponytail is a common hairstyle among celebrities like J.Lo or Kim Kardashian, but it’s also a popular style choice for the red carpet. As simple as it is, a sleek ponytail on long, straight hair emphasizes the jawline and makeup, giving off a chic charisma.

TIP: After tying up your hair, polish it up with a hairspray for extra hold and shine. When it is secure, take a lock of your hair and wrap it around the hair tie to conceal it.

Loose Curls

Loose curls never fails to make an appearance at red carpet events, and Cannes’ was no exception. Classic and feminine, loose curls portray an elegant and ladylike appearance. It frames the face and is suitable for long or short hair.
