Social media jet setter Lina Dinh (Love Between the Racks), uses travel destinations as her style muse.  Her biggest challenge is figuring out what to pack because it has to be done strategically – you can’t pack the same suitcase for every destination you visit. The weather, culture, colours and vibe of the city are all factors to consider when selecting outfits.

Cast your thoughts ahead to far-flung destinations. The height of the summer is here. Are you ready for your next summer destination? Let’s get packed!

The Summer Dress

  • Dress: Diane Von Furstenburg at Hudson’s Bay
  • Shoes: Stuart Weitzman
  • Bag: Sandro

I love a multi-coloured dress. It brings so much life into your summer destination look whether you’re planning an escape to the Caribbean, Europe or Asia.  Bright colours are stimulating and inspire you to stand next to chromatic backdrops for photographic memories.

The Jumpsuit

  • Jumpsuit: Aritzia
  • Shoes: Chloe
  • Sunglasses: Celine
  • Bag: Chloe

If there is one style I love to wear and take everywhere I go, no matter the destination, that is the jumpsuit.  Jumpsuits are a ready-to-go piece that doesn’t require too much thinking when you want to get up and throw something chic on to start your adventure at a resort or in a new city.  I packed seven jumpsuits and four bathing suits for a week long trip to Punta Cana. It was the easiest packing I’ve ever done in my life!

  • Dress: Laura Siegel linen sleeveless button-up maxi
  • Bottom: Laura Siegel silk culottes
  • Shoes: Oak & Fort mules
  • Bag: Oysho

Choose lightweight fabrics that will stand up well for days in the sun. Past a certain temperature, wool and polyester are not a possibility.  The best fabrics for summer are linen, cotton, rayon, and silk.  These textiles are fast drying, breathable, comfortable and very lightweight.

  • Bag: Sandro

My evenings are effortless, minimalistic and chic just like my dresses.  After miles of walking around the city I want nothing more than to be comfortable for dinner, drinks and desserts.

The Kaftan

  • Caftan: Laura Siegel
  • Bottom: Club Monaco
  • Shoes: Oak & Fort mules (in black & white)

If there is one pair of heels I live in day to night, it’s a good pair of mules.  They are uber comfortable and I never once have suffered in them after a full day on my feet.
