Dear readers!

As we put together this issue, the crisp white snow was still sprinkling down from the grey sky, floating to the ground with elegance and pureness. For those of you who are looking forward to warmer days, Ontario’s Wiarton Willie and Nova Scotia’s Shubenacadie Sam, both celebrity groundhogs, have predicted an early spring. South of the border, however, Pennsylvania’s famous Punxsutawney Phil, predicted a longer winter after seeing his shadow.  This interesting North American tradition of Groundhog Day has been taking place for over a century. Believe what you will!

This month we share expert tips on looking your best as you prepare to tie the knot this year – from fashion and beauty to photography that captures your special day. Our lifestyle professionals provide information on how to stay happy and healthy. You will learn how to keep the romantic spark alive and why creating little, happy moments is important.

Also, we explore the Canadian-Irish connection with a peek at the annual St. Patrick’s Day celebrations. We continue to celebrate Canada’s 150th anniversary and discover the historic connection between this country and Alexander Bell’s world-changing invention, the telephone.

A profile of Dr. Phong Bui, an inspiring young professional, tracks his turbulent early life and how he has made impressive strides forward. Most touching is his love for family and how he balances his work and personal life.

Since this is a love and family-filled issue, I’d like to end this letter by sharing some happy news.  My eldest son Justin has been selected among 180 best 2006-born hockey players in the world to participate in the Hockey Hall of Fame International Future Legends Tournament in Toronto in April. Moments like these help us as parents forget the drudgery of life. Regardless of our children’s achievements, it’s those little fun moments we spend together that create lasting memories.

Happy March to all!
